Rivière Private Rooms Alla Scala

The elevator was broken when I arrived with 4 bags. The concierge first left me to carry them upstairs alone, then grabbed the smallest when he noticed I was struggling. There were no pods for the coffee machine, despite the website promising them, and the safe was locked from a prior guest and didn’t work. I also had trouble getting hot water in the shower the first night. The maid came early on checkout morning and saw me struggling down two flights of stairs with my bags, but didn’t offer to help. In the middle of the night, the two 20-something American girls next door had a screaming fight about an Instagram post for an hour. I called the hotel line for help. The man who answered struggled to understand English, which is fine, we are in Italy. But he thought I was a neighbor calling about myself and told me there was a young woman staying in my unit all by herself. That was strange to hear and violated my safety and privacy. Not fine. Not worth $300.

The room flat wasn’t what we expected from the listing and pictures. All the windows face the road, though when I asked if it was on the park, they said yes. You’re basically sleeping on the road, with a terrible traffic smell. The tram shakes the room, and it’s just awful. No hairplug was provided, and there’s a looooottt of noise! I’m waiting for a remboursement.

Getting around was easy, with the metro, tram, and taxis close by. The service went well beyond what I expected.

A terrible experience.
