Rafael and Marinela made the winter visit feel warm and personal from the start. Their homemade lasagna and tiramisu were so good we kept thinking about them afterward. We stayed with seven adults, my fiancé and his family, and the villa gave us a lovely place to spend time together. Getting there through the Chianti hills was part of the experience, and wandering the gardens and quiet corners of the grounds was a highlight. I lived in Rome for six months and have visited Italy several times, but this was easily my favorite trip. The property is private, peaceful, and beautifully cared for. The fireplaces and cozy rooms suited winter perfectly, though it’d be wonderful to see the pool, tennis courts, and outdoor areas in summer. We took day trips to Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, and other Chianti towns, then came back each evening to the quiet countryside. Poggio alle Corti gave us memories we’ll treasure, and we’d love to return.

With seven adults and a baby, we had plenty of space at Poggio alle Corti. There was room to spread out, while the layout still made it easy to gather for meals and relax together. Even in winter, the villa felt welcoming. Rafael and Marinela were warm, professional hosts who went out of their way to help. The property is spacious and private, surrounded by the Chianti countryside. We visited Florence, Siena, and San Gimignano during the day, then came back to a wonderfully quiet place each night. It worked perfectly for our trip, and we’d happily return.

Traveling with our one-year-old went smoothly. A crib and high chair were ready when we arrived, and Marinela had even done our food shopping in advance, so we could settle in and relax right away. We also loved the evenings: the girls curled up by one of the three fireplaces with wine, while the boys learned to cook Florentine steak with Rafael. Rafael and Marinela welcomed us with dinner, including lasagna, chicken, and the best tiramisu I’ve ever had. The villa is peaceful, beautifully maintained, and set behind a breathtaking drive through rolling hills. The views made it feel as if we’d truly escaped. It was a special place to enjoy Tuscany, and we’d gladly come back.

I’ll never forget this trip. The villa feels like an Italian fantasy, with incredible views all around, and it made a great base for day trips to the small medieval towns in Tuscany that everyday tourists may miss.

For our first trip to Tuscany, choosing villa poggio was easily our best decision. From the balcony, we watched bright sunrises over vineyards and green mountains, and the views were spectacular. The house has the modern comforts we needed while keeping its historic charm. The on-site staff were welcoming and ready to help. On a cool November evening they lit the big fireplace, warming the whole room while we relaxed with a lovely bottle of local Chianti from a nearby vineyard. We’d recommend renting a car so you can explore more of Tuscany, including Florence and Siena.
