The family who runs the place is incredibly hospitable. The rooms are beautiful, and the food is like home cooking, with a quality you’d compare to high-end Michelin cuisine. There’s so much culture around that choosing what to do can be hard. It’s one of the best places on Earth I’ve ever visited, and I’d never regret coming back.

We had tasty food and kind service at the restaurant. It’s also a great spot for kids.

We’d been told to stop here for lunch, and Matteo and his team made us feel so welcome. They suggested a few pasta dishes, including wild boar ragu, and we paired them with their own wine, which was excellent. Matteo speaks English really well after living there for many years.

The pasta and vineyard wine were delicious, and the service from the charming, bilingual Matteo was great. This little spot is just off the junction at Albarese, and it’s worth a short detour if you’re heading to Grosseto. They even have fizzy water on tap instead of serving it in plastic bottles.

A lovely spot to unwind in the Maremma countryside.
