Agriturismo Magnaboschi

After three days of pure happiness, we headed home refreshed. My boyfriend and I came for a long weekend to escape the hot, stuffy city air in Turin. Licia was fantastic, and her agriturismo is a little gem surrounded by greenery where you can truly relax. Each morning started with a fabulous breakfast and Licia’s delicious cakes, then we went out to see nearby little beaches or more unusual places, like the beautiful Tarot Garden. Thank you, Licia, for putting so much care into every detail.

The pool at the property was a relaxing place to spend time, and breakfast was delicious every day. Our room was very spacious, tasteful, and clean. We’ve just finished our stay at the Magnaboschi farmhouse, and found the simple setting, surrounded by distinctive nature, made for a really enjoyable visit.

This was a wholly negative experience. We booked by email based on the property description and photos, which we found misleading. For guests coming from outside the region, what protection is there when we can’t see the place before booking? Had the owner told us which unit we’d be assigned, or known and disclosed the actual state of the rooms, we would have chosen somewhere else and left that unit available for another guest. There are several properties nearby that cost less and are much more comfortable. We were given the ground-floor Magnolia apartment. The entrance door was its only light source and opened straight into a dark bedroom with a musty smell and dated furniture. The furniture was practically unusable, and having to find our things on the floor was hardly a dream. The mattress was comfortable, but the sheets smelled foul, like those in low-quality hotels or hospitals. Dust covered the headboard and curtains, and there were cobwebs and spiders in several spots. Those webs clearly hadn’t formed just hours before we arrived. The exterior had little greenery and no privacy. The barbecue couldn’t be used because its grates were rusty, and the promised breathtaking view wasn’t there. Inside, the kitchenette was cramped under the stairs, with a step that made it unsuitable for anyone with mobility impairments. The windowless bathroom was the worst part: it smelled musty and foul, and the soap dispensers, tiles, sink, toilet, and glass countertops were dirty. I had to clean the glass surfaces with wet wipes. There was no shower stall, and because the bathroom was accessible, water ended up flooding the whole space. It stayed damp, with no way to air it out. The owner offered us another apartment in the building, but we’d already had to cut our vacation short after an allergic reaction, likely from dust or insect bites. Even so, Licia demanded payment for three nights, including the tourist tax, although we didn’t use one of those nights. She also claimed the apartment had been cleaned before our arrival, despite all the evidence we saw.

We stayed one night during our cycling trip through Italy. The room was simple, but had everything we needed, and the owner was very friendly. The surroundings were fantastic, almost spa-like, especially the pool.
