The Porto Ercole room was in the basement, and the musty damp smell was obvious despite two air fresheners. Damp patches showed in several corners, but nothing had been done about them, which seems especially careless when guests might have mold allergies. The room was dusty and not clean, and at least two electrical outlets were completely pulled away from the wall. The sofa bed was painfully uncomfortable, with springs poking through what barely passed for a mattress. The safety setup was just as concerning. There wasn't a fire extinguisher anywhere in the basement. The first ones we could reach were upstairs by the staircase leading to our room. There were only two windows, both high up, and opening them meant climbing onto a chair. Their outside bars, which seemed fixed, also made it impossible to reach any fire extinguishers from there. A manager should inspect a room's cleanliness, hygiene, and safety before handing over the keys. That check clearly hadn't happened here.

We were very happy with our stay. The rooms were spacious, clean, and had everything we needed, and the location was great. The only small letdown was the breakfast pods: for two people staying two nights, we would have liked at least four rather than two. Otherwise, everything was perfect and we'd definitely recommend it.

Such a peaceful place to unwind. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful holiday, and the location was handy, with everything close by. We loved the pool too. Hope we can come back soon, highly recommend it.

The sea is only 20 minutes away, so it would work well in summer too. We had a warm welcome and everything was meticulously clean. This is an elegant, welcoming B&B with a lovely garden set up for guests and a pool. It's in a quiet residential area with lots of greenery, while still having great transport connections, highway exits nearby, and the Misericordia hospital close by.
