Agriturismo Casanova

We spent a weekend at the Casanova farmhouse and had a wonderful time. The rooms are carefully maintained, the pool was clean, and nature seems to go on forever here. A lovely place run by lovely people, especially suited to anyone looking for complete relaxation.

Nadia was so kind and helpful, and we felt at home right away. Her son Giacomo put together a lovely evening and made excellent pizza in the wood-fired oven. We'd never visited Umbria before, but we're glad we found this place and will return. The property is well kept, clean, welcoming, and wonderfully peaceful, surrounded by greenery and fresh air. You can see the hills, while Gubbio is only a few kilometers away. We recommend it for couples and families alike, since it's fully equipped. Our stay was lovely, and we head home tomorrow. Highly recommended.

The road up is unpaved, with a bit of a climb, so drive carefully. It's passable, though, and the effort gets you to paradise. On that last stretch we even saw a porcupine! We stayed two weeks at this agriturismo, which seems to appear from nowhere. Once through the gate, the valley opens up all around you, with views over Gubbio, and it's hard to imagine leaving. I won't forget walking my dog along the entrance road beside the pool, looking out at the mountains and valleys in the early morning mist. The owner was helpful with everything and welcomed my dog so warmly. It's our last day today, but I hope to come back. I highly recommend it.

The only real downside is the final stretch of road, which is gravel and quite steep. That's down to the town, not the owner, and the place is well worth the drive. We even spotted a porcupine along that stretch! The location is wonderful, with an unbeatable view. We had a very relaxing stay: the wind made the heat easier to bear, the pool was comfortable, and it was completely quiet. The owner makes sure your holiday feels easy and peaceful, from payment to using the pool and handling anything that might cause worry. The apartments are simple, but they have what you need.
