B&B Aesis La Dolce Collina

The garden was beautiful, but the rest of our stay was very disappointing. Breakfast was unappealing and basic, just dry croissants and a few slices of prosciutto. The kitchen counter was dirty, and the refrigerator seemed poorly cared for, with bottles scattered around. Our room had a toilet with no seat, and the coffee machine’s tank held greenish water with visible residue. We raised these problems privately with the owner, hoping to offer constructive feedback. The phone response was the worst part: our concerns were brushed off with unprofessional comments and excuses. We were told we could put toilet paper on the toilet, and that the machine’s water had just been changed, despite what we had seen. We were also told there couldn’t be another room because the property was fully booked. Yet we didn’t see any other guests, and the place seemed nearly empty, so that explanation didn’t convince us. Inconveniences happen, but guests’ reports should be handled with care. We felt there was little interest in addressing the criticism constructively, and the tone of the call seemed disrespectful toward us for simply pointing out problems.

The location among green hills is fabulous, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It felt like good value for money. The only drawback was the tiny ensuite bathroom, especially the shower.

The owners were very friendly, but the property didn’t seem well maintained. Our triple room for one night on May 2nd cost €90. It had a tiny bathroom and mold on the roof.

The countryside is beautiful, with wheat fields, sunflowers, and rolling hills all around. We had a comfortable, spacious apartment and appreciated being near a restaurant serving extraordinary bruschetta, “bruschetta” hardly does it justice. Breakfast was generous, served on site, and had something for everyone. We were pleased with the cleanliness and the courteous service, too. It’s about half an hour from everything, making it an excellent base.
