San Donato Golf Resort And Spa

The setting is amazing, but the court is in poor condition. I expected more from the services.

The rooms are roomy and nicely equipped, though a bit dark for my taste. I had a few problems with my room and reported them. They weren't fixed, but I was moved to another room. It's a peaceful hotel surrounded by greenery, with friendly, helpful staff. Both the Italian and international breakfast buffets have excellent food, and the coffee and cappuccino are made fresh. I'd recommend it.

The course is nothing like it was a few years ago. Nearly all the fairways have burnt grass, and parts of the greens are burnt or full of holes made by crows. Most tee shots have no grass, while the bunkers are overgrown, and wherever the grass is gone, there's no sand. It all gives an impression of neglect and disinterest. The reception staff were rude. They didn't tell us about the course conditions and charged us the full price for 18 holes. Disgusted, we played only nine, and got no refund.
