What bothered me most was the power cutting out repeatedly. It first went off at 9 p.m. on the night we arrived, and with nobody from the staff on site, I had to call the manager and reset the breaker myself. About 20 minutes later it happened again. I asked for an electrician to be sent, since guests need electricity, but the manager told me that if I wasn’t happy I could stay somewhere else. That struck me as extremely rude and unprofessional. The outage happened again the next day. Guests who had arrived the day before also said the power had gone out the previous night. There were plenty of other problems. Breakfast was mediocre, towels weren’t changed daily, and on one day we weren’t left soap or shampoo. We ran out of toilet paper and had to find more ourselves. They wouldn’t take a credit card for the city tax, although all the other accommodations in Italy do. The TV was only 21 inches and mounted high on the wall, too small to watch comfortably. There was also a loud, disturbing noise like an electric drill, lasting two or three seconds. I think it may have come from our bathroom, though we could hear it when it wasn’t being used too, perhaps from the neighboring room. It was especially annoying while sleeping. The room arrangement was another issue. I booked on January 29, and the listing said the bed could be one double or two singles. I specifically requested two single beds. The accommodation waited until 15 hours before check-in, after the room had been paid for, to say two beds weren’t possible. They had over four months to tell me. If I’d known, I would have booked somewhere else. We paid 130 euro per night for this. I could keep listing things that weren’t right.
