Ferienhof Gschloier

We were surprised by how lovely it was. It's quiet and restful, with great views from the room, dining room, and terrace, and you can still get there by car. Mornings are especially peaceful, with birdsong and the scenery. Lots of hiking routes are close by, though most go uphill :). The room was a medium size, very clean, and had its own terrace. Mr. Florian was helpful despite the language barrier. The food was outstanding, especially dinners made fresh with local ingredients. Just note that the nearest village is 4 km away by car.

We left about half an hour after arriving because the place wasn't what we expected, although there was nothing specifically wrong with it. I explained that to Florian, but we couldn't reach an agreement on a partial refund. We were willing to pay for one night, or even two, but had to pay for all four prepaid nights, which was disappointing. The farm sits high on a hill, so getting there and traveling to other places is a bit difficult. Our room was clean, but felt too much like a hotel for my taste. I also find two mattresses on a double bed uncomfortable, and Florian said all the rooms have that setup.

The view was fantastic, and our room was exceptionally clean. Breakfast was really good as well. Take care on the road after dark, since it has a lot of twists and turns.

It's a long way from everything, but the view is fantastic. Florian was friendly and kind, and gave us some useful local advice. He makes much of the breakfast himself, and it was great. Parking is right beside the rooms and very convenient. The place was clean, neat, and homey. One of our best stays.
