There was no privacy at all, since you live communally with everyone. The linens weren't changed during our two weeks, and the boat trip we paid for never happened. Dog hair was everywhere, especially in the small pool. I wouldn't recommend it. This was my fourth time returning, but everything has changed. I also never received an invoice for what I paid. Never again!
The garden is neglected, so I don't know where the “oasis” is. The rooms are small and claustrophobic, with just one very old, noisy air-conditioning unit in the kitchen. The sea view is only 20%. Dust, dirt, and cobwebs were all over the house, and finding two small dead cockroaches under the bed was a nightmare. Before our trip, the owners seemed welcoming in their messages. Once we arrived, that hospitality disappeared, and they were useless whenever we needed anything. If you go out in the evening, the only shower they offer is in the garden in front of the other guests. When I asked for a feminine hygiene item, they told me to go to a bar or the airport because they'd be at the beach. The daughters were intrusive and kept trying to see what was happening in the room. They even slipped in once without permission. The room's only shutters face the main house's front door, so we had to keep them closed for privacy, and by 7:00 a.m. the room was already in broad daylight. For what we paid, the value is poor compared with similar places in Lampedusa. It's embarrassing living beside people like this, with elderly people washing their feet in the courtyard and the landlord spitting on the floor. I don't recommend it.
More than an oasis, the place feels like a favela. The garden is dry and unkempt, with construction tools lying around. The mother-in-law often takes a footbath in the entrance hall, and her husband spits on the floor without regard for the guests. The daughters even came into the apartment without asking while I was in the bathroom. Surreal. The rooms were awful, half-basement spaces with no comforts. They were scorching hot, and the post-war air conditioner vibrated so badly it kept us awake. There were no shutters, so daylight came in at 7 a.m. We found cobwebs, dusty drawers, and a dirty bed with a couple of dead animals underneath. The bed was uncomfortable, with a plastic sheet that made you sweat, and the sheets and towels were worn. The owner showed no hospitality. On departure day, we asked for a bathroom for women's needs and were told, "Either you go to a bar or straight to the airport, I don't know how to help you." The value for money was terrible. If you want to ruin your Lampedusa vacation, this is the place.
I spent two weeks at this property, and sadly, nothing went well. They never changed the linens, including the towels, and the boat trip we paid for never took place. The pool was full of hair from the dog in the house, even though I love animals and have three at home. The owner also wanted to move my mother and me into one room with a double bed and a small cot.
