The welcome was wonderful. Casa sul Borgo is in a medieval village, and the Azzurro apartment has a simple, understated renovation. It works for a family of four. Upstairs, there’s an entry area with two sofas that convert into beds, plus a double bedroom with a very large walk-in closet. A hallway opens onto a spacious bathroom with a shower, and there’s a little kitchen with a fireplace. The windows look out over the valley and olive trees, with the sea in the distance. Parking is close by and free. There’s no air conditioning, but the hillside setting seems to bring a nice breeze. The sea is about 15 minutes away, with a choice of an unequipped pebble beach or the beach clubs at Porto San Giorgio, including a free beach.

We had a really relaxing few days as a family in August 2015. Lapedona sits among the Marche hills, with a lovely view, and the sea is just over a 10-minute drive away. Our apartment was new, beautifully renovated, and welcoming. Highly recommended.
