B&B Delle Grotte

I was there for work, so I had to make do. Otherwise, I would never have picked this place, and I won't be back. The room was damp and dirty, with old unused furniture and just one very noisy convector heater. There was no breakfast, and the owner vanished without even asking for our IDs. I'll let people draw their own conclusions about that. I'm surprised the Health Department or, apparently, the Finance Police haven't shown up. It was easily the worst hospitality experience I've ever had. “Terrible” doesn't even cover it.

While we were out, someone had switched off the heater and left the windows open. We had our belongings inside, and they broke in while we were away, so that was unsettling. The rooms were dirty, there was no breakfast, and the owners were nowhere to be found. Never again.

We booked only two days ahead, then arrived to find there was no room for us. The owner denied we'd been in touch. During the booking, he seemed very pleased to avoid the booking fee. I'd suggest using booking.com: the savings won't go to you, but at least you can begin your holiday with some peace of mind and protection from managers who act unprofessionally.

Getting there was easy, and the location was excellent. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and clearly well cared for, while the owner was very kind and helpful. A lovely stay we'd happily repeat. And special thanks to the lady who baked a delicious donut for our girls. Recommended.
