Cangrande Hotel

We had to check out well before breakfast time, but the staff still served us something. They understand their job and were really nice. I’m sure I’ll miss them. Thanks so much for the great service, and I hope to see you again.

Breakfast was generous and really tasty, and the staff were very friendly and hospitable. We enjoyed our stay, though the room’s view stayed a disappointment throughout. We’d paid almost 200 Euro a night and had to reconcile the lovely pictures online with a fairly ordinary, small room and an ugly outlook. Cangrande Hotel Lazise has a lot going for it: a great location, a beautiful historic building, a huge covered terrace and a parking garage. It’s affiliated with its own vinery, and the rooms have been newly renovated, most with balconies. The room itself was tastefully done to a high standard, but the faceless old furniture made it feel as if the renovation had stopped halfway. Our balcony looked over the courtyard roof, which was covered in tar paper, with no flowers or anything to improve the view. It’s a shame nobody mentioned the vineyard during our stay or invited us to look around the shop or taste any products. I’m sure guests would buy something. Even offering a sip of their wine at check-in as a welcome would go a long way.

The breakfast had good variety and plenty of substance, and there was a comfortable lounge area. Parking arrangements were excellent. The property is well equipped with all the commodities, and the staff were always there to help and assist.

The rooms are basic and functional, but the location makes up for that. It’s a great hotel with amazing hosts.
