L'Acero Rosso B&B

We found this quiet little spot only a few minutes from the city center. The owners were incredibly friendly, and breakfast outside on the grass, among the sofas and chairs, was lovely. Our room looked onto a charming garden. The shared bathroom and some street noise at night were the only downsides, though neither was unbearable. A good fit for a night or two.

Marco and Renata made us feel very well looked after. Their large garden and the short walk to the center added a lot to our stay on this branch of Lake Como. The building itself is a former stable, beautifully restored as a period residence.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the garden is fantastic. With private parking and a stunning location, it’s a great-value place if you’re visiting the city.

The only decent part was the fairly large bathroom. We got two separate beds despite asking for a double room, and they felt like we could fall out of them. The locks were old and hard to open. There was no welcome when we arrived or the next morning, and breakfast was terrible, with insects in the water and coffee that was probably expired. Otherwise, this B&B was horrible.
