Hotel Sole - Limone

We waited around because nobody seemed interested in greeting us when our group arrived for dinner. Once seated, we waited ages for drinks. We’d ordered just a small Coke and three still waters, and they cost €20. One friend’s prosciutto pizza arrived with ham that was still squealing and a can of tinned mushrooms thrown on top. It was so soggy that lifting a slice left what looked like Lake Garda on the plate. The three pasta dishes seemed to have been made by chef Mike (microwave). We ate them, but the pizza was inedible, so we sent it back to the manager, an old woman behind the till. She insisted the food was high quality and wanted us to pay the full bill. After a difficult argument, we paid for everything but the pizza, still over €70 for three meals and four drinks, and one malnourished friend. Go if you enjoy Karen's diner and terrible food. Amen.

The location is the only good thing here. The service barely exists and there’s no atmosphere, just the low hum of a microwave. My lasagne was stodgy and lukewarm, as if chef Mike (microwave) had made it. The pizzas are an insult to Italian food, with all the toppings coming from cans. My partner’s prosciutto and mushroom pizza was covered in water from the tinned mushrooms and soaked right through. When my partner lifted it, the plate filled with water. I showed the waiter how wet the base was by running my fingers underneath it. They said nothing, just took the pizza away to what looked like the owner. It was still on the bill, even though my partner had eaten half a slice and made the complaint clear. We had to explain it all again to the old woman owner behind the till. She waved her hands, got frustrated, and insisted we pay for the awful pizza. The waiters argued with her for about five minutes while we stood our ground, and it finally came off the bill. A complete waste of time and an insult to Limone and its great restaurants.

We went on 12/09/2025, and this restaurant was a complete embarrassment to Lake Garda (limone). If zero stars were possible, that’s what I’d give it. My prosciutto And mushroom pizza arrived within two minutes, but it was swimming in water. The dough was undercooked and soggy, and the whole thing looked and tasted like it came from a can. Everyone else in my party ordered lasagna, bolognese or carbonara. Those dishes were lukewarm and stodgy, like they’d come from a microwave. About a kilo of Parmesan was the only thing that made them edible. I ate half a slice and stopped because I was starting to feel sick. When I sent it back and showed the waiter the puddle on my plate as I lifted the pizza, nobody apologized. The pizza was still on the bill. We explained why we wouldn’t pay for it, then had to talk to the old and entitled female manager behind the till, who insisted we pay the full amount. After the owner waved her arms and we argued back and forth, we stood our ground and got the pizza removed. We still paid for the food and drinks we’d consumed, over €70 for just three meals and four drinks, three of them water. The atmosphere was awful, and both service and communication were slow and disappointing. It was terrible value. Do yourself a favour and avoid it at all costs.

We were three families together, eight people in all, four adults and four children. They told us every table was reserved, which felt like they were trying to trick us. We ordered three pizzas, three French fries and three large waters, but after about five minutes the manager came over and said we couldn’t share pizzas and wouldn’t accept the order. They’d lost three orders because of that. We felt very unwelcome, and I really don’t recommend this place. Two members of staff were genuinely helpful, though.
