We came with our family, including the children, and had a terrible stay. The water heater ran out of hot water after one shower, so we had to wait a long time before anyone could take another. It was a constant hassle. The cleanliness was also unacceptable. There was hair and debris on the bathroom floor, and the pots and pans were encrusted. The plates and glasses were visibly dirty, so we had to wash everything before cooking or even getting a glass of water. With children staying there, hygiene should have been a priority, but it clearly wasn’t. This was a disappointing experience and not worthy of a tourist accommodation. We don’t recommend it and won’t return.

The owners are friendly and helpful, and the whole apartment was clean. Breakfast was plentiful too. It’s a good spot for visiting Mount Etna or Taormina without spending too much. I’ll come back.

I cancelled my reservation and found somewhere else, because I didn’t feel the management was adequate. I’d booked through a gift box that said check-in was possible after 3:00 PM, with no latest arrival time given, so I planned to arrive late in the evening. On the day I was due to arrive, I was told check-in was only possible until 8:00 PM. I called to explain that I was flying and couldn’t control possible delays. If the flight was delayed, I could arrive and have nowhere to go. The owner said he could wait until 8:30 PM at the latest, but after that there was no point in calling. He suggested I cancel or postpone my stay, as though I should arrange my holiday around his needs. Surreal. There was another issue: I’d booked a property in the municipality of Linguaglossa, but he gave me directions to one in Castiglione di Sicilia. I absolutely don’t recommend it. Luckily, Sicily has plenty of places with more helpful, kind, and professional managers.

Good value for money, and a great fit for cyclists like us thanks to the convenient indoor bike parking. The apartment was clean and well cared for. Breakfast was set up in the kitchen, with a fridge stocked with what you need, coffee included.
