BB Via Vai

The food tastes great, but the service is very slow. There was just one waiter taking orders for what looked like around 50 tables. It would help to have more waiters doing that job.

The risotto was very good, but the rest of the food felt very average for Italy. The tuna salad was barely edible, and the goulash soup was nowhere near what goulash soup should be. I was surprised to get salmon trout, though it was listed on the menu and I hadn't read it properly. The waitress also tried to charge double for the service.

We were in Livigno for 7 days and ended up eating at Via Vai at least three times a day 😁😋. It was so handy to ski down the slope, leave our skis, then get coffee and cake, vino caldo with la piadina veggie, or whatever we fancied. After the kids' ski school, we'd have an early dinner and take the leftovers back to our apartment for later. 😁☺️ The food was tasty, service quick and attentive, and the atmosphere and location were great. Very recommended.

The two polenta dishes we tried were delicious, nicely presented, and just the right size. Apple Strudel was lovely too, and plated beautifully. We came in hungry before a day of Christmas gift shopping, and the bread and Grisini arrived quickly once we'd ordered, which helped. The order itself took a while because the service seemed overwhelmed. The restaurant is on Livigno's main shopping street and easy to spot, thanks to the huge Harry Potter Statute outside. I'd recommend it and would come back for the same order :)
