Dinner was a real highlight. During our nine nights, everything we ate was excellent, with cheese, salads, cold cuts and more at the buffet, followed by four courses. The waiters were friendly and great with the kids, who were always offered ragù or carbonara if the menu didn’t suit them. The hotel is clean and very well looked after, and the owners are involved and capable. Its location is prime for skiing, just put on your skis and head out, and there’s a great ski room with heated boot storage. We missed having a kettle in the room for tea or coffee, and some vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumber or lettuce at breakfast. I’m sure they’d have sorted it out with a smile if we’d asked. We highly recommend Mesdi, though we’d like it to stay our secret.

Every staff member was friendly and supportive. Lsondro was an especially professional and attentive waiter at Hotel Mesdi, taking care of everything we needed at Mikey' s for lunch and in the dining room for dinner.

We found the people here really kind, always ready to help. The rooms are comfortable, and the location is ideal for families spending time in this part of the Italian Dolomites. It also works very well for cyclists, with bike storage, a convenient location, and the option to wash clothes. After a long day riding, the spa is a nice extra. A place I’d recommend!

We came back a year later, and had another good stay. On our first visit, I couldn’t decide between four and five stars, but gave five in the end. The place is tidy and the food is delicious. I did wonder why serving vegetarian food seemed like a problem at first. Once we called the hotel leader, it all became easy, and the vegetarian alternatives were very good. The chef came over after the meal to check that everything was fine. I can recommend it.

We’ve already booked for next spring, and will come back for cycling and walking in the wonderful Dolomites before then. Ski fanatics are just 20 strides from the slope, and the wellness centre is bliss. The hotel is brilliantly run, with a fabulous new chef and a well chosen wine list. What’s not to like? Enjoy, people!
