Levante a pochi passi dal mare

The apartment is in a quiet, convenient spot in Santa Maria Navarrese, close to the beach, with easy street parking. The supermarket and port take a bit of a walk, though both are reachable, and having a car makes getting around simple. We’d happily return to the area, but not to this property. Our stay felt cold and transactional from the start. The self-check-in was confusing: we were told the key code would be sent after we shared our passports, but it never came. With several apartments in the building and nobody there to help, we had to look around ourselves and call the host. That was a needless hassle after a long travel day. Communication stayed defensive. When we asked about small things like milk for coffee or extra towels, the host acted as if we were being unreasonable and said we should have read the listing more carefully. The welcome book said shower gel and shampoo were included, but neither was there. We asked on our last day, and they brought some over then. It felt as though any interaction beyond payment was unwelcome. The host also described early check-in and late checkout as favours, though each only meant an extra half hour. The rubbish instructions were overly complicated for a short rental, especially since we paid for cleaners and expected them to handle it. After we left, I gave the booking platform a fair 7 out of 10, marked “Good,” without writing any comments. The host sent an aggressive WhatsApp message accusing me of leaving a “terrible review,” then blocked me and refused to discuss it further. That response showed little professionalism or ability to take mild criticism. Maybe she expected a 10/10 from everyone. The apartment and location are adequate, but the host’s attitude was a real disappointment compared with the warm interactions we had elsewhere in Sardinia. She seems to treat the place as a non-residential investment rather than approach it with a hospitality mindset. If you’re fine with never speaking to the host, you could consider it. For the local warmth Sardinia can offer, I’d look elsewhere. I would have rounded 7/10 up to 4/5, but after this experience I lowered it to 3/5 and wrote all this in my Google Maps review.
