Agriturismo Le Murelle

Daniela was friendly and went out of her way to help. The house worked well for five adults, with clean, nicely sized rooms and a big kitchen equipped for making meals. The shower was a bit tight, but the water was hot and the pressure great. The pool was clean and large, lovely for a warm summer or fall day, and the patio was perfect for early coffee. A nearby bakery opened early with a good breakfast selection. We also met guests staying in the Farmhouse's other accommodations, and everyone was friendly and happy to be there. The old building still has its original structures, which give it a warm, rustic feel. Surrounded by vineyards and olive trees near Lucca, I could have stayed a month or more. I highly recommend Farmhouse Le Murelle.

The only real drawback for us was that breakfast and toiletries weren't provided. Otherwise, it was wonderful: a beautiful garden and clean pool, good clean rooms, a helpful host who speaks good English, and a fair price. We paid 200€ in May, with a two-night minimum stay. The host sells their own local wine and olive oil, and vineyards surround the farm. There's a food shop five minutes away by car, along with an ATM, pizzerias, and other places. They also have a very cute cat named Tutu, though there aren't sheep anymore. I'd definitely come back.

Daniela was such a warm, welcoming hostess, and the surroundings are almost magically beautiful. The apartment was comfortable and well furnished, with old stone and brick walls in a converted farmhouse. After 50 years away from Italy, I can't wait to return. Lucca is a short drive away, where you can hear an hour of live opera every night of the year in Puccini's birthplace. Le Murelle was even better than I'd dreamed.

We've been coming since 2008, and every time we're there it feels like we're part of Daniela's family. She makes you feel at home, from the flowers on arrival to the little chats. It's a lovely place with a nice pool and great olive oil, quite close to the city center of Luca. Le Murelle is Tuscany just as it should be!
