Al Podere di Rosa

We stayed at the campsite and had a great time. Paolo was really friendly and welcoming, and their adorable cat Minou was a lovely bonus. The farmhouse is a peaceful way to experience local country life, and I’d especially recommend trying their own olive oil. Walking into Lucca is quite manageable at 4 km, along pleasant Italian streets. There are also a few bikes available to rent if you’d rather cycle.

The 400-year-old house is full of character, with pieces of family history displayed throughout. We also enjoyed being able to buy wine and other local products at reasonable prices. The location made it easy to wander around the property and nearby farms. Katerina and Paolo were exceptional hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was nicely decorated and extremely clean, the bed was very comfortable, and breakfast had a wonderful range of local produce. Thanks for such a lovely stay.

We slept really well, and it was so peaceful and quiet. The hosts were warm, helpful, and friendly, and the cats were lovely, especially the blind one. Breakfast was delicious, with the best tomatoes and olive oil. It’s an ideal spot for cycling into Lucca and exploring the city by bike.

We booked just one day ahead and stayed two nights in our camper. Paolo made us feel welcome and lent us two bikes for free, which got us to Lucca in about 15 minutes. Breakfast, prepared by him and his wife, was very good and served in their beautiful house. It’s so peaceful here, you really don’t feel like leaving :)
