L'Antica Bifore

We had such a great time at L’Antica Bifore and can’t wait to return. Alessandro and Alice were warm and helpful, and the location was great. Our room had gorgeous decor, a great view, and good amenities. We also ate at Alessandro’s restaurant one evening, and it was the best meal of our whole trip. Lucca feels magical, and staying here made it even better.

The host was a really great guy, with good tips and information, and he even went out of his way to work around our breakfast allergies. The place is charming, clean, and in an excellent location. The antique style in the shared area is lovely, though having the room doors open straight onto it and so close to other doors means there isn’t much sense of privacy. The main drawback for us was the very uncomfortable bed, which felt unnecessary at this price. Still, we’d recommend it.

Check-in was super easy, and the owners were lovely. They clearly wanted us to have a great stay in Lucca, and we did. The guest house is beautiful and about as central as you can get. Our room was spacious and charming, with a great view. So many details felt carefully chosen, from the local cookies in the room to the furniture that suited the space. It really felt like stepping back in time. Thanks for a wonderful visit.

Alice and Alessandro were truly lovely, helping with directions and recommendations, arranging dinner reservations, and telling us some local history. The house is beautifully furnished, and its location on one of Lucca’s main streets is great. It’s a historic building, where Dante lived during his exile from Florence. We’d definitely stay there again when we come back to Lucca.
