Le Dimore del Borgo

We stayed for four days and were glad we chose this place. It’s right by the historic city wall, just a few minutes from the old town and all its entertainment. After long walks, coming back to a quiet, tidy apartment was a pleasure. The AC wasn’t working in our first apartment, but the host offered us another one without any fuss.

Our apartment was spacious, new, clean and luxurious, and the staff took great care of us. It had three bedrooms, each at a high hotel standard, so it felt like paying for three hotel rooms with a living area included. Breakfast was ordered the day before and delivered fresh on a tray at the time we chose. It’s on a quiet street just a few minutes outside the walls, with free parking, and the price is VERY reasonable. Highly recommended, and we’d happily return. The kids would rather stay in the apartment than go out for ice cream! Book soon, the prices are bound to rise!

Just outside Lucca’s city walls, Le Dimore del Borg Hotel Apartements turned out to be a brilliant choice. It opened recently, and the building feels modern, spacious and luxurious. Each apartment has its own theme and style. We stayed in The Traveller, a roomy two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment with a full kitchen and dishwasher, air conditioning, luxurious bathrooms, big closets, tasteful decor and a long, narrow balcony facing a side street. There’s free parking in a fenced lot behind the building, plus an air-conditioned reception area and an elevator in the three-story building. Each apartment has a code key. During reception hours, the very kind, accommodating staff handled check-in and checkout with great care and politeness. Breakfast can be ordered from menus the day before. Apart from a small mistake with our request for sugar-free items, everything was freshly prepared and packed just for us. The price range is perhaps on the high side, but the whole experience was well worth the cost. We highly recommend Le Dimore del Borg and will seriously consider staying there next time we need accommodation in Lucca.

The apartments were modern, clean and very well cared for. Both receptionists were lovely, and the continental breakfast was great, with generous portions. It’s in a great location and good value for money.
