We’ve booked with the Alberti Agency again this year, after more than 15 years as clients, and have generally always been happy. The welcome is consistently excellent, and the apartments have matched their photos and descriptions. This time the service felt a little confusing: we chose one apartment and were given another, though it was very similar. It’s still a reliably good agency. For a wider choice, try to book at least a month ahead.

The agency should stop renting out places in this condition, because they bring a bad name to both the agency and the town. We rented two apartments in Madonna di Campiglio, and both felt abandoned since the 1970s. The furniture was ancient, kitchen cupboards were coming apart, there was no oven and not enough dishes. The sofa bed and mattresses seemed just as old, while the bathroom was dated and had lights and electrical sockets that didn’t work.

The apartments are cared for and well placed in Madonna di Campiglio, handy for the lifts and other amenities. We found the agency dependable and professional, and the staff were warm, helpful and around whenever we needed them, even on holidays. A worry-free mountain stay, and easy to recommend.

What a shame. Some of these properties need renovating if the agency wants to keep its guests. The place we rented was in such poor shape that it made us feel like we were being squeezed for every last penny. The price itself isn’t the issue, given how prestigious and beautiful the location is. We came back this weekend from our usual ski holiday in Madonna di Campiglio and used the Alberti agency again. This time the service was truly inadequate. The sink in the guest bathroom was coming off the wall, the main bathroom tub needed repairs, and the cushions were falling apart. Pots, pans and dishes were in very poor condition. We weren’t expecting Lagostina, just decent equipment. The wardrobes were dated and their locks didn’t work well. There was one broken deckchair on the terrace, and appliances like the Folletto didn’t work either. I’ve attached a few photos to show what I mean.
