There’s no balcony, which I missed, though you can smoke just outside the door and there’s a pub next door. The place is right in the city center, and check-in is through a coded key box. My room was very neat and had plenty of books to browse, just as its name suggests. The service was warm and helpful. Breakfast is at nearby Caffee Leopardi, with vouchers provided in the room, but they’re worth only €8 for two people.

We had a lovely stay in this B&B in central Maglie. It’s a handy base for exploring Salento, the room was kept clean, and it had lots of amenities. The owner was friendly. Highly recommended.

We were able to leave our bags and start exploring right away, since Book and Bed is central and only a few meters from the station. For a short visit to historic Maglie, with places from Capece to Moro to discover, it worked really well. The place had what we needed: clean rooms, air conditioning, quiet nights, kindness and punctuality, plus a breakfast suited to our needs so we could rest and set off again the next day. Breakfast at Caffè Leopardi was excellent. It’s a family-run bar where people are especially welcoming and friendly. The B&B is right in central Maglie, making it convenient for trips to Lecce, Galatina, Gallipoli, Otranto and the Alimini beaches. Everything was clean and well cared for, and the staff were kind and helpful. Highly recommended, we’ll be back!

Books all around the place caught my interest, and each room is named after a writer. I stayed in Oscar Wilde. There’s also a terrace where you can read or unwind after a walk around town. The B&B is peaceful, right in the heart of little Maglie, with comfortable, well-equipped rooms and attentive hospitality. You can have breakfast at a nearby café, or make your own coffee or tea. Highly recommended!
