Fattoria Pianetti

BE AWARE!!! The photos and reviews on this page looked lovely, so I booked an apartment through the fattoria’s official website. At check-in, reception sent us to a different building, “Residence Pianetti,” about half a kilometer from the reception. The building was completely infested with mold. There was mold throughout the apartment bathroom too, and the tile joints had been poorly painted over, apparently to hide it. The smell kept us from sleeping, and after a few hours my partner developed a sore throat and headache. We got through the night and complained in the morning. The receptionist said we didn’t have to pay if we didn’t want to, and that he would pass on the problem and cover it for us. He gets the one star. The dozen or so euros isn’t the issue. We’d have paid much more to avoid exposure to what we consider a serious health hazard. Mold is directly linked to many serious long-term illnesses, such as cancer and dementia, and is extremely bad for people with low immunity. Management needs to take this seriously, stop using the building immediately and carry out a thorough renovation. As we were leaving, we saw a young child going in. I really couldn’t believe it. A smaller issue by comparison: there was a wedding party when we checked in that afternoon, so we couldn’t use the pool while trying to get away from the smell. Only then did the hotel tell us that apartments in the Residence don’t have pool access by default. That isn’t clearly explained on the website. I can’t speak to the condition of the Fattoria building, but management needs to stop hiding the problematic Residence behind the Fattoria facade.

Best stay I’ve had. The room was tidy and clean, the food was great, and the staff were so kind with excellent recommendations. I’ll definitely be back!

The location was good, but the stay was awful. The bathroom door wouldn’t shut, so there was no privacy, and the bathroom itself was filthy, with body hair in the toilet. The room and even the sheets smelled strongly of chemical air freshener, and I couldn’t sleep. I asked for clean sheets and was given unscented ones, but there was no apology or help. I had to change them myself in the middle of the night. The hygiene and management were unacceptable. Avoid this hotel.

The room was spacious and clean, and the location was perfect. I’d only planned to stay one night, but liked it enough to add another.
