Hotel Villa Rosa

We asked after checkout if we could stay by the pool for an hour before leaving. The answer was, "We have 100 guests arriving, there's no space for you," followed by "those are the rules." There was no flexibility or sense of appreciation for guests who had just paid to stay there. The breakfast staff were friendly and attentive, one of the few positives, but breakfast itself was basic and dull, and below what you'd expect for the rating. We spent two nights and left with a bad impression. Online, the property looked appealing, but in person it felt tired and dated, with little attention to guest comfort. The bathroom was unpleasant, with an awkward folding shower door, no bidet, which seemed unexpected for a "4-star" hotel, and a strong sewage smell. Our room door also wouldn't close properly, which felt concerning from a safety standpoint. The pool was small, the outdoor area uninspiring, and the photos online didn't match what we saw. The property falls short of its claimed standard in both facilities and management's attitude.

I'm reposting a classmate's comment because they got it right: "I would give this place -4 stars if I could. The staff made me and my crew of 32 people, who came for an Erasmus+ program, feel unwelcome. The food was cold, portions were tiny, and the service felt almost hostile. The rooms were filthy. We found out staff reused towels from other rooms as 'clean' replacements, and some even had blood on them. The sheets looked like they hadn't been washed since World War 2. There was a bad smell coming from the closet, like my grandma's toilet, and our clothes ended up smelling like poo too. Staff also tried to charge us for walls that were already damaged. I could say more, but a lot of people might lose their jobs. I don't recommend this place at all if you want to live!!!!"

Stay away! The owner was rude, the towels were dirty, and the food was crap.

Staff were excellent, and the hotel was very clean and comfortable. There was plenty of parking for cars and coaches. The main issue was the food, with little variety at evening meals and mostly local dishes served. The self-service breakfast area was too small. The indoor sauna, swimming pool, and gym are open from the 1st of October to the 1st of May. The outdoor pool closes for that same period each year.
