The owner was like a personal tour guide, pointing out the best places to see in a day and a half, places to eat, and routes to take. It felt as if we were staying with friends. The place was more like a residence than a B&B for the same price, with a fully equipped kitchen and even a bottle of water in the fridge. Everything was well furnished, clean, functional, and air-conditioned. We'll definitely come back to Matera, which deserves a more thorough visit, and we'll return to that "residence" too. It was worth it.

The private kitchen was really useful for making meals for our little one. I was traveling with my wife and our two-year-old, and the room was comfortable for us. The B&B is in central Matera near the famous Sassi, where locals also park so they can walk down to the center. I booked a week ahead for Easter and Easter Monday. At €87 a night, it may be a fair price for a B&B, though I'm leaving out the word breakfast since there isn't any. Matera was sold out, and I'd return.

Mr. Martino was attentive and extremely helpful with every need. The apartment was spotless, had every comfort, and was centrally located, just a few minutes on foot from the city's historical and cultural sights. Definitely worth a try!

The owner and the room I found in Matera were fantastic. He even showed me where to go and which sights to see, like a tour guide. It's been light years since I've met people like that in this setting. The city itself was beautiful and very clean, and its people were so helpful.
