Casa Vacanze Il Melograno

The location made it easy to walk to most tourist spots, cafes, and restaurants. I had the whole apartment to myself in a cave house in the sassi, with a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. Just a few steps outside, there's a stunning view. Anna was helpful, sent detailed check-in and check-out information, and answered all my questions, including about cafe and restaurant recommendations 😄

Anna, the owner, was there when we arrived. The apartment was clean, in order, and had everything we needed. Its position is spectacular, right inside i Sassi, yet it's easy to explore Matera on foot. The two apartments are both fine, though one has a better view and a larger bedroom, so it's worth asking which one is available before booking to avoid any misunderstanding.

The facilities are showing their age, but the location is a real plus. You can sit by the window and take in the night view as much as you like.

Set right among Matera's Sassi, the house feels wonderfully distinctive, and it has everything you need. The location is excellent. It does get quite humid, which seems tied to the way it's built, so a dehumidifier would help. That’s the only reason I’m holding back the fifth star. Highly recommend it.
