Dimora Margherita

Matera is such a magical gem, it’s hard not to fall for it. The apartment was lovely, welcoming, and one of a kind, with a beautiful room and jacuzzi. It’s very close to the Sassi and parking is convenient. Margherita, the owner, was genuinely kind and helpful. I highly recommend it.

The room had simple but tasteful furnishings and was really nice. Getting in was a little complicated, though I suppose that’s normal in the historic center. The bathroom had everything we needed, and the air conditioning was excellent. The owners communicated really well and made an effort to sort out an unexpected booking problem. Thanks again for finding us a place in mid-August, even though we chose somewhere else in the end. Nearby public parking is paid, but quite affordable, around €8 a day if I remember right.

It’s close to everything, comfortable, and has parking nearby. Mrs. Margherita really looks after her guests and pays attention to their requests. She’s also the person to ask if you need any information. The one thing I’d change is the sofa mattress, which felt a bit too soft.

The accommodation was good, and the owner was lovely and helpful. Still, that extra bed is an uncomfortable sofa, and when the single bed was folded away it made the space for the second bed cramped. It’s probably best for two people, maybe with small kids. Four adults, especially older ones, might find it a stretch. Apart from that, no complaints.
