Il Vento dei Sassi

We left the car when we arrived and didn’t need it again until departure, which says a lot about the location. I stayed here with my family during the week of August 15. The room had a lovely, quirky feel, and the view was beautiful, especially after dark. The owner was kind, professional, and always ready to help.

There are several parking lots nearby, and the place is really convenient for seeing Matera. We were there over Christmas, so the festive atmosphere was a lovely bonus. The room had all the comforts we needed, felt warm, and was clean and well cared for. The view was spectacular, and our host was very kind and helpful. Congratulations!

Matera and the Sassi are right there to admire from the window, and the location makes exploring on foot easy. I spent a night here with two friends. The room was roomy, with a double bed and a double sofa bed, and everything was extremely clean. I loved the careful design, especially the bedside tables shaped like swings, and the bathroom was just as thoughtfully done. Cristina had left juice and coffee in the fridge for us. Breakfast at a nearby café was included in the price. Thank you.

The beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom was huge, with a really big shower. The bathroom lock, though, was broken and kept sticking, so opening it was a struggle. The property is attractive, with minimalist furnishings. Storage is quite basic: ropes fixed to the wall with hangers instead of closets, and shelves rather than dressers. Breakfast was at a nearby partner café, but they often ran out of things and the service felt disorganized. There’s a TV with DDT, a mini fridge with welcome drinks, and air conditioning. The location is well placed for the center and the main sights.
