La Seta Nei Sassi

The room was full of character, very clean, quiet, and in a perfect spot, with a terrace overlooking the Sassi. It's an ideal base for discovering wonderful Matera from the center, and we can't wait to return. Mrs. Lucia was incredibly kind and helpful even before we arrived. We didn't have a car, so her father-in-law picked us up at the bus station and walked us to our room. They're truly lovely people, and helped make our stay unforgettable.

The roof gives you a lovely view over the Sassi, and getting there is free. Inside, the house matched the photos and had every comfort. Lucia had thought through all the details and clearly cares about her work. She gave us useful information before and during the trip, met us to show us where to park for free (a real gift in Matera), and left homemade cake, water, juice, and sweets. We followed her advice and booked a guided tour; she even arranged discounted tickets. Her suggestion to stay two nights was spot on. Matera is magical and full of surprises. After more than 20 years of travelling for work, I've never stayed anywhere quite like this. It's run with incredible professionalism.

Gianni and Lucia were warm, attentive, and ready to help. The apartment itself is beautifully furnished and practical, with access to a stunning rooftop. We spent three days here in August. It's just a short walk from the centre, and the view over Murgia Park is wonderful. Highly recommended.

The owners had saved us a parking spot, and Lucia's husband came to meet us when we couldn't find the place. The apartment is a real stone house, carefully furnished and renovated to suit its surroundings. It's right at the start of Sasso Caveoso, so the historic centre is very close. A deserved five stars for the welcome. Highly recommended.
