We had a hard time finding the apartment. The reception girl sent me several WhatsApp messages, but they were very difficult to understand, even though they were in Italian and I speak Italian. They really need to provide a simple map before arrival, so guests can find the apartment before getting to Matera. Still, the location was very nice, close to the main square and the overnight parking.

We stayed in the ground-floor apartment, which was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the host was friendly and informative. It doesn’t have the same view as the upstairs apartment, but you’re just a few steps from the viewpoint beside Chiesa di San Pietro Barisano. The apartment is in the Sassi, close to Piazza Vittorio Veneto. I’d highly recommend it for a couple of nights in the Sassi.

The host was extremely welcoming and helpful, and the first-floor flat has marvelous views. The location is excellent, though Google shows the wrong spot: the flat is behind the one shown on the map.

The terrace apartment is a good pick for its view and location. Everything was clean and tidy, although the furnishings are basic. Parking and getting luggage to the place are convenient, which really matters in Matera. The only letdown was the meager breakfast, which you can have at another nearby establishment.

The host was so kind and explained what to see and where to go when we arrived. Our four-legged friends are welcome, too. The apartment was clean and well cared for, with a breathtaking view from the balcony and terrace. It’s close to the new center, making it easy to get around the city’s attractions. Beautiful place, definitely worth choosing!
