We stayed in L’Arco and loved how it gave us a sense of the area without feeling closed in. The room and amenities were tasteful, with coffee, tea, and an honor refrigerator. Outside, the patio gave us a bird's-eye view of the Sassi. Valentina was a great source of information about town and restaurants, and arranged our transfer. Her Apertivo hour is lovely for relaxing with company and a beautiful sunset. The neighborhood is quiet but close to restaurants. Torreta, above the valley with a tremendous view of Matera, was one of the most unique and finest places we've stayed. A five-star experience.

We've travelled a lot, and Torretta ai Sassi is one of the most memorable places we've stayed. The ancient city views are incredible, though be ready for plenty of steps. Parking is a five-minute walk away, and the location is superb. For three days in Matera, it was an intimate, unique place to stay. Valentina was beyond great: she spent nearly an hour at check-in showing us where to go, made dinner reservations and spot-on recommendations, and replied quickly to our texts.

Valentina made sure we felt well looked after, paying attention to every detail. She even put together an amazing breakfast box with lots of sweet and savory options, all gluten-free and dairy-free for one of us with food intolerances. The Sassi di Matera location is fantastic. By day we could see la Murgia, and in the evening the Sassi lit up beautifully. We had a lovely weekend in Matera, and staying at Torretta dei Sassi made it extra special. Highly recommend this authentic BnB in the heart of the Sassi di Matera.

Valentina was a wonderful, proud host. She showed me her garden and took time to explain how to get around Matera, what to see, and where to eat. The cave room was perfectly appointed and opened onto a huge terrace with majestic views. An incredible experience.

Valentina's attention to detail made our stay comfortable and memorable, and she was an impeccable host. The rooms are beautifully appointed. Our room at La Torretta Ai Sassi opened onto a balcony facing the town, with gorgeous skyline views of Matera. We got iconic photos in both the morning and evening light. Highly recommended.
