Le Stelle Nei Sassi

A top-notch place to stay.

The beds were genuinely comfortable, and the bathrooms had chromotherapy showers, such a treat. The whole house was spotless. Even though it's in a cave, a lovely spa-like scent greets you at the door and gently lingers throughout. Lucia's attention to detail and effort to make guests feel at home really stood out. Thanks to her, and compliments to the owners. We spent two wonderful days in this vacation home, close to the center and right at the entrance to the Sassi. The owner's reserved parking was very convenient, and the service was impeccable. Lucia's delicious homemade cakes made for a generous, hearty breakfast. Highly recommended!

The little terrace beneath the stars was such a treat. Our small apartment was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed, including a comfortable bathroom with all the amenities. Staying with Mrs. Tina was a real pleasure. We got a welcome cake, and it was not just good, it was even better!

We were six people staying at Le Stelle nei Sassi over the New Year's Eve weekend in 2022, and had a great time. The house is right in Matera's Sassi, in the Sasso Caveoso area, so we could walk everywhere and get to the center quickly. It has three bedrooms and three bathrooms, which made sharing the space easy. The place was exceptionally clean, from the sheets to the shower, and matched the AirBnB description. Mrs. Lucia left us towels, cookware, and plenty of breakfast supplies. Since it was Christmas, she'd also decorated the whole house with a tree and garlands, a lovely touch. Lucia and her family were warm and kind, and gave us lots of tips for seeing the city. If you're visiting Matera, this is a wonderful place to stay.
