Netta Rooms

We’re a young couple, and usually we can shrug off a rude receptionist, especially somewhere as beautiful as Matera. But some people may find the aggressive way the gentleman at reception behaved harder to overlook.

The room was dark, with a very small window and a lamp that wasn’t bright enough.

Right in the center, and the staff were friendly and happy to help with requests or local information. The room was tiny, just a bedroom and bathroom, but had nearly everything, except a bidet. It was clean, with Wi-Fi, water, and a coffee machine. We were welcomed with a breakfast kit for the next morning, toast, jam, coffee, and a croissant. The two swans on the bed were a sweet touch. Parking is on the street.

I booked through Airbnb. The place is very nice and right in central Matera, with plenty of parking lots nearby, which is handy if you arrive by car. My room’s bathroom was outside the room, which wasn’t very convenient. Still, everything was very clean and the staff were really helpful.
