As a solo traveler, the personal moments meant a lot to me. Antonella met me at checkout, and we had a lovely chat about life in Matera, local events, and even fashion, which was a delightful surprise since I work in fashion too. My room was clean and beautifully styled, with a character that suited Matera. The hotel is in a wonderful spot, peaceful but only a minute from lovely pastoral views over Matera at sunrise and sunset. This family-run boutique hotel has a story passed down through generations, and its authenticity comes through in both the building and the way it’s run. Communication with the owner, Antonella, was excellent: quick, warm, and in perfect English, a real bonus for travelers. Check-in was easy, and she left a bottle of wine in my room, a thoughtful welcome after a long journey. I really appreciated it. A very positive stay in a hotel with character and soul.

Our room had a balcony overlooking the street, and the place itself was beautiful. The host was wonderful and very accommodating. We had an amazing stay, one of the best we’ve had in Italy. We’d come again!

We had a great time and would gladly return. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful, and the rooms were lovingly furnished and very, very clean. It’s a charming little city palace in the center, close to all the sights, with great restaurants and bars right nearby.

We stayed for two days, and this was one of the friendliest, best places my girlfriend and I visited this year. The staff were super kind and helpful. We’re already looking forward to another trip to Matera!
