The host was lovely, and the place was clean and well equipped. It’s only a short walk to the centre and the Sassi.

The balcony looks straight out at Matera Cathedral, and at night the view is breathtaking. It’s only a 100-meter walk to the heart of the Sassi di Matera, with the city’s best prices, too. Getting here from the station is easy even with suitcases, without steep hills or stairs. The home has all the comforts, including a kitchenette and washing machine, so it’s especially handy for a stay of several days. The owner is helpful about arrival and departure times, and lets you leave your bags in a secure place after check-out. What more could you want? An Amaro Lucano...

The woman who manages the apartments was incredibly kind. I had a wonderful time, and the house is just steps from the historic center. It has everything you need, from the bathroom and bedroom to the kitchen.
