Hotel Ayri

The staff were really friendly and helpful, always willing to accommodate requests. Breakfast was pretty decent too. The rooms could be better: the bed is very light, with what doesn't feel like a real mattress, and the whole thing moves when one person shifts. The bathroom was clean, but the shower is very old and its floor has turned yellow with use.

We couldn't get a decent night's sleep with flies and mosquitoes everywhere and constant buzzing. The rooms were filthy, and the air conditioner didn't work, so we sweated through the night. Staff didn't speak any English, which made it impossible to ask for help or even order room service. If you want somewhere clean, comfortable, and welcoming, avoid the Ayri at all costs. It was a nightmare.

The staff were super rude, and I wouldn't stay here again. In reply to the hotel's response, there's no acceptable reason for staff to behave that way. We didn't take the food they claim we did. Milk wasn't freely available even though cereal was offered, so we had to ask for it, and then it was poured for us. There were no sandwiches at breakfast, so I don't see how we could have taken any. We did take one croissant each back to our room. If that's against hotel policy, guests should be told. Instead, the staff member became even ruder than when we arrived. The hotel can try to excuse the behavior by lying, but people should know what it considers acceptable. I wrote to the hotel directly, and they ignored my message instead of discussing what happened.

We were promised a refund for one night after complaining at the front desk, but the hotel charged our card again two days later and then refused to cooperate when we disputed it. The room was very basic, nowhere near the three stars it's supposed to have, and the air conditioner was broken. Flies were everywhere. The Ayri is a scam and a complete rip-off. We'd never recommend it. Save yourself the trouble and book somewhere else.
