B&B Vistamareblu

We were there from September 1st to 3rd, and Luca helped us with useful information about the area and where to get breakfast, Dentoni in Torre dell'Orso, while we visited several beaches. The room was bright and very clean, with a comfortable bed and everything we needed for a short stay. The bathroom was tidy and well maintained too. Li Marangi beach is just steps away, while the place itself is quiet and only a few minutes on foot from the centre and main tourist attractions. Luca was friendly and helpful.

We spent the week of August 9th to 16th here. The B&B is 80 meters from the sea, with both public and private beaches, so it's a good choice if you want to relax and leave the car behind. Bars, restaurants, and tobacconists are close by too. Luca greeted us when we arrived and was very kind and helpful, especially with suggestions for heavenly beaches and places to visit. Our room was clean, cozy, and had all the comforts.

For our one-night stay during the Salento Walk, we were charged €30 per person, €120 in total. The owner had no room at the B&B and offered us an apartment instead. We found dust everywhere, a peeling stovetop, broken chairs, and a sticky floor that felt like it hadn't been cleaned in months. We had to open the gas cylinder on the terrace ourselves, and it smelled strongly of gas, so we wondered if it was leaking. We couldn't use the washing machine even though we asked, the sockets were loose, and there was nothing for even a basic breakfast. Everything was dirty. We don't think the price was fair, and the experience didn't fit the spirit of the walk.

The owner knew we were coming from the Camino and that nothing was open in San Foca, but there was no breakfast or even a bottle of water. We complained and were told the apartment was a beautiful example of 1980s furniture. The kitchen had an external gas cylinder that we had to open, with no lighter to light the stove. The sofa was dirty, and the outlets were loose. The air smelled of mold and dust, and we had trouble sleeping and sore throats. I've traveled a lot, and it was one of the most depressing situations I've experienced. For the same price, sometimes less, we found clean, welcoming rooms and generous breakfasts all along the Salento Camino. If we'd been told clearly that we'd be getting an apartment that had probably been closed for a long time, without breakfast and so on, we would have looked for something better. I checked the reviews and photos before calling to book one night in November while walking the Salento trail. Since the B&B was already occupied, the owner offered us an apartment. I can't describe the atmosphere we found.
