The locals are friendly and chatty, which adds to the feel of this charming little restaurant. The host is very welcoming, and the menu lived up to its promise, with ingredients sourced locally.

Umberto, the owner, kindly drove out to get me when I had a technical problem 5 km from Mercatello and couldn't continue my cycling trip. I spent one night at the Locanda as a stop along the way. The room was spacious and very comfortable, and dinner at the restaurant next door was excellent in both quality and quantity. I'd recommend the place, and the surrounding area is great for nature walks and relaxing.

The staff were delightfully kind, and I enjoyed the room and tried the cuisine. Staying here felt like stepping back in time, with the simple, spontaneous hospitality you'd expect from an inn.

Breakfast deserves a special mention, especially Umberto's excellent homemade jams and the legendary Oneglia ciambellone. The restaurant is excellent too. Umberto and his staff are kind and courteous, welcoming guests with their usual discretion. The rooms are elegant and well kept without being showy. It's a family-like, welcoming place, and I'd happily return again and again.
