The owner apologized when we raised the cleaning problems, called it an oversight, and sent the cleaner back. Even so, I've never seen a place in this state. There was dust throughout the apartment, stains and dust on the bedside table, hair all over the bathroom floor and inside the shower, plus a grimy sink and dirty mirror. I strongly advise against staying here. It's hard to imagine somewhere worse.

The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was great, and the apartment itself was clean, cozy and nice. It’s around a 10-minute walk to the Duomo, with excellent tram connections, and the owner was friendly when we arrived. I’m giving it two stars because the kitchen wasn’t properly equipped for cooking. There were no knives, scissors, dishcloth or cutting board, and the freezer was packed with ice and couldn’t be used. Turning on the oven tripped the power for the whole apartment. We were on the third floor and had to go downstairs to switch it back on. We’d bought food to cook in the oven, so that was really frustrating. The electrical issue should be fixed and the kitchen needs basic supplies. Given what we experienced, I wouldn’t recommend the place.

Despite being right in the city center, the apartment was quiet. It's new, furnished nicely and has everything you need. The owner is very kind and helpful.
