Andrea's Apartments - Chiasserini

The apartment was in dreadful shape during our 15-day stay between July and August. Most mornings, magpies and crows moved through the wooden roof and even looked in through the two skylights, which had to stay shut so the birds couldn't get inside. The apartment faced the street near the train tracks, and every passing train shook the house. It was noisy too. The washing machine was filthy inside. I found a coin, a lighter and even a piercing in its blackened door seal. I had to disinfect it, then wash our laundry again after it came out stained black. The flimsy clothes horse kept folding in on itself, so I tied a ribbon around the base to hold it up. Kitchen utensils, plates and cutlery were inadequate and mismatched, as if left behind by past tenants, and some things were simply missing. The extractor hood light switched itself on whenever it felt like it. There were cobwebs everywhere, dirty windows and un-ironed bed linen. We had our son and daughter-in-law stay overnight on two weekends, two nights in total, and paid the extra charge. One night, my son ended up on the floor when the taped slats on the bed base came loose. The room had no air conditioning, and the closet doors were secured with bike locks. The extra charge for it all was outrageous, but our plans had been made long in advance and we had no other option. I reported all of this to the owner during the stay, and I have photos. He already knew about the problems but did nothing except switch off the hood light. I can't recommend this place. The high price doesn't match the very poor quality of what's provided. I'm posting only a few photos, and even those don't show how bad it was. A stay I'd rather forget.

There was no elevator to this top-floor apartment. It wasn't quite falling apart, but it came close. Of the two single beds, one had a base propped up with a few loose wooden boards and was missing screws from one leg, so you can imagine how stable or comfortable it felt. The slats on the other bed slipped out as soon as you lay down. There were cracks in the walls that wouldn't even have needed an earthquake to appear. The kitchen gear was awful, and the owner was rude. That's about it.

The owner lives in the next apartment and contacted us at 1:00 AM, showing no respect for our time. The apartment faces a public street and has no soundproofing, and its location in a business district isn't suitable for tourists. There are no nearby supermarkets, cafes, or restaurants. The building's exterior and entrance aren't welcoming for tourists either. Hallway lights are dim and switch off automatically, while each room has just one bulb, which isn't enough light. There is no dishwasher or water heater for coffee, and the second bedroom has no air conditioning. Some facilities are locked and can't be used.

Don't let anyone sleep here. This place is worse than a prison. It's filthy, everything's broken, and nothing works. A complete dump.
