Aparthotel Isola

The apartment was spotless, and during our four days there housekeeping came once, taking care of the trash and linens. It felt very secure, with three doors to unlock before reaching the apartment on the fifth floor. The only thing I’d be cautious about is walking alone in the neighborhood late at night. Getting around was easy. The tram stops right outside, the bus stop is even closer, and the metro is a 5-6 minute walk away. There are supermarkets just steps away, including 24-hour Carrefour and Aldi, as well as a nearby clothing shop. From the room we could see skyscrapers in the distance. We arrived to breakfast snacks, water, and juice, and the cozy sitting area and fully equipped kitchen had everything we needed. The AC worked perfectly during Milan’s extreme heat. The room was comfortable, and the espresso machine made delicious coffee. The owner was quick and efficient to deal with on WhatsApp, and the wifi was excellent. The fridge was the one real drawback. It felt more like a cool cupboard than a proper fridge, so we couldn’t keep our water very cold during the heatwave. I’d still definitely recommend this lovely place in Milan.

The little extras really made this stay for us: breakfast snacks were laid out, the fridge had welcome drinks, and the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. The apartment itself was spacious, clean, well equipped, and full of thoughtful touches you don’t often get even in full-size hotels. There’s secure parking under the building for a reasonable fee. It’s also very convenient for getting around, with metro and tram stops at the next corner. The tram to the Duomo square takes about 25 minutes. Small restaurants and takeaway spots are nearby, as is a large supermarket right across from the house, and driving in from the ring road was easy. Isola deserves its high ratings. We loved staying here and hope to come back.

The place is hard to find, and the intercom didn’t work. When we arrived in the dark at midnight, the owner demanded an extra €50, even though the room was already paid for. He said we could pay or leave. What a bully. The owner was extremely rude and greedy, completely unacceptable. The apartment has been divided into several small rooms, so you can hear the people next door, along with the tram running right outside. Good luck sleeping. If you enjoy a rude host and a loud, noisy place, this is for you.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. On our last day they stored our luggage, and even let me shower a few hours after we’d checked out, before our flight. Water and soft drinks in the fridge were free, and there was coffee and a few snacks too. The place was modern and clean, and worked perfectly for our business trip. It’s only a few steps from the metro and trams. We had a great stay.
