21 House of Stories Navigli

The thin blanket left us cold at night, so bring warm sleepwear or your own blanket. Our canal-side room had a lovely view, but it was noisy, so earplugs or a room on the other side may be a better fit. The area is lively, with a pleasant canal-side stretch of bars and restaurants nearby. Breakfast was good. The pool and rooftop bar were closed for winter.

Our bed and mattress were awful, noisy and uncomfortable, and the club across the canal kept us up every night. The room looked superficially clean, but dust had built up in layers on the shelves. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The hotel is within a 20-30 minute walk of major historic sights and the shopping district. There's a lovely rooftop with a view, pool, good lunch, and an evening bar, plus a nice courtyard and plenty of work space. Breakfast was decent, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The place definitely needs some improvements.

For what this place costs, a toilet that keeps flushing by itself around the clock is ridiculous. I asked several times over multiple days to have it fixed. Someone would work on it and it would go quiet, but before long it started flushing again. I got almost no sleep, and it seriously affected my mental health. I've never had this happen at any hotel, not even a hostel. I'm not writing this to hurt the business, but they need to fix their toilets.

We had to switch from another hotel after a rough day, and the staff here were so accommodating. They even gave us a drink at the bar on the house, which we really needed. At checkout, while we waited for our Uber, they made us coffee. They clearly go out of their way to look after guests. The rooms were very clean, everyone was amazingly friendly, and breakfast was incredible. The rooftop terrace has a pool and restaurant with incredible Milan views, a great place to have a drink. Thanks for the hospitality!
