Appartamento Corvetto

I booked at the last minute for an early flight and paid over $450, which was very expensive. The room felt old and motel-like, and it didn't seem very clean. The area also looked sketchy, so I don't think this qualifies as a four-star hotel. On the practical side, it's close to LIN airport, and getting a taxi for an early flight was easy. Even at 4:30 a.m., it arrived in two or three minutes. The staff were very nice and friendly.

The rooms look okay and were clean, but I wouldn't recommend staying here. The area felt very sketchy, and I wouldn't feel safe walking around at night. The metro is nearby, though it's about 20 minutes into town. Breakfast is advertised in promotions, but there's only a vending machine, no breakfast at all. The hotel policies are also unfriendly: they ask for a €100 deposit on your card, then hold it until the room is checked at checkout. They don't explain that it may take 2-4 days to come back through the card company and bank, or that cash is an option. There's a kitchenette, but it's not included in the price. Use it for even one glass of water and they charge €50 for cleaning. The staff came across as arrogant and unfriendly, talking over me and not letting me finish. When I did the same, they got offended.

The receptionist was polite, but the payment and checkout policy was very unprofessional. I had paid for the room in advance, yet that didn't guarantee my stay. Reception treated it as a checkout if I left my belongings out of the room. They also tried to charge me twice for one night. Hotel management, Monica Marchetti, was really impolite and wouldn't let me finish explaining what had happened.

The view from the window was great, and there's parking and free WiFi. My room was always clean, with a comfortable bed and bathroom. The hotel is in a very good spot near Porte di Mare metro station, and the staff were friendly and spoke English.
