Hotel Canova

I stayed during the Olympic Games and have no complaints. The beds were comfortable, the staff were nice, and the hotel had what I needed for a few days. It's only a few minutes' walk from Milan's main station, and there's a cat cafe just three minutes away. A comfortable, pleasant place to stay.

The rooms are small, but cozy and just right for a short stay. The reception team were great, friendly, and gave me all the information I needed. The cleaning lady was lovely and helpful too. It's very central, about a five-minute walk from Milano Centrale, where you can catch the airport shuttle. There are supermarkets, loads of restaurants, and coffee shops within walking distance. Definitely recommended.

The location was the main reason this worked for us. Milano Centrale is about a 5-8 minute walk away, there are plenty of places to eat nearby, and you can get to the metro without crossing traffic lights if you're heading around the city without luggage. We needed a room for one night and were initially unsure because of the low reviews, but decided to try it. The room was small but fine for two, clean and decent-looking. It had a window that couldn't really be opened all the way, a fridge with some water, a bright bathroom, a new hair dryer, slippers, and a single all-in-one shampoo. The water pressure wasn't great, and sheets were provided in place of toilet paper. The lobby looks dated, which makes the renovation plans understandable. As of 12 Feb, only one lift was working, but we were lucky not to wait long. At check-in, the receptionist entered the wrong city tax amount on the EFTPOS machine. It seemed an honest mistake, and they corrected it straight away. I think it's worth staying here.

I stayed with my mom, and we were both pleasantly surprised by the service, rooms, breakfast, and cleanliness for a 3-star hotel. Our room was cleaned daily, and the towels were changed each day. The breakfast was tasty and had plenty of choice, including coffee, milk, and water. The hotel is near the Centale Station, about a 5-7 minute walk, which is handy for the metro to the city center and other spots, or for a longer trip such as Como. Lovely hotel, and I would rate it 4 stars.
