Guest House Brianza Room

We booked two nights through Booking.com, and even after the reservation was confirmed, they deliberately declined our card payment and gave the room to other guests for a “higher price.” Completely unacceptable and disgusting. Every debit or credit card we tried had a balance above 1,000 euros, and the credit cards had monthly limits over 10,000 euros, but the payment kept being declined for this property. We picked this guest house because it was near the central station and seemed affordable, not because we couldn’t pay for a hotel. The day before Milan, we’d stayed in Cortina d’Ampezzo at a hotel costing over 500 euros a night. Then there was this reply: “Good luck in a hostel where or at most the tunnel of the station in Milan which is what you can afford”. It’s full of disrespect and arrogance. I can hardly believe someone so disrespectful and arrogant could run a business in central Milan in the 21st century. Shame on you for those dishonest, disrespectful words :D

For a hostel, this place is awesome. It was extremely clean, and the staff were really friendly. The bathrooms are shared, but very clean, and WiFi is free. We skipped breakfast, so I can’t comment on that. You can hear your neighbours a bit too easily, but honestly, I didn’t have much else to complain about. Thanks for the hospitality.

The rooms were very clean, and the shared bathroom was clean too, so it seems to be looked after regularly. The hotel service responded when needed. Location was decent. Breakfast is the downside: it’s just one croissant and a coffee per person, so get breakfast somewhere else.

The location is really good for getting around the city, and at least I’ve learned not to return. Booking.com lists incorrect information and should update it: we booked a room with a private bathroom, but they don’t have any rooms like that. The staff were unkind and strict with guests. The air conditioning didn’t work, so we had only a fan to cool the room. I had to shower in cold water because I couldn’t get any hot water. The TV remote was faulty too, and I couldn’t turn the volume down.
