Guest House Castello

The guest house is on the second floor of a large building across from the castle complex, close to the central area. It was clean, inviting, and well appointed. The key code made it easy for everyone in our party to get in, and the complimentary snacks and drinks were a nice touch.

The main issue was that there’s no reception, so we couldn’t leave our bags. I’d seen in other reviews that there might be somewhere to store them, but I hadn’t known about it, so we had to sit around for about two hours before dropping them off and starting our day. The rooms were clean, the bathroom was large, and the bedding was comfortable. The location was great, within walking distance of Cordona Train Station, right across from Sforza Castle, and close enough to walk to most Milan sights.

It’s hard to find the hotel. The signs are poor, just a tiny plaque outside, and with no reception it feels like you’re entering the wrong building. We walked past it about three times before figuring out where the entrance was. There’s no staff at reception, which I didn’t know when I booked. Luckily, we didn’t have any problems, so that was fine. The place itself is very clean and comfortable, and it worked well for a quick Milan trip. Trains to the airport are easy to reach, and there’s a metro nearby for getting around.

We had a really good stay, especially for a last-minute booking during Milan Fashion Week, when the price still felt pretty reasonable. Room 6 was spacious, modern, and clean, with a courtyard-facing window and no noise at night. Castello Sforzesco is right across the street, and Cadorna station and Duomo are only a few minutes away. There's no reception open around the clock, but they email you all the information, so that didn't bother us. We could also leave our bags and use the little living room after checkout. We'll be back.
